      Master Jef Rice has been involved in the Martial Arts for over 26 years. He started studying Ju Jitsu in 1983 in Rapid City, South Dakota. He earned his Black Belt in 1990, and opened his first school in Spearfish, SD. Master Rice opened a second school in Sturgis in 1995, and was Chief Instructor of both schools until his return to Law Enforcement in the Pennington County area. Master Rice received his 4th Dan (Degree) in Ju Jitsu in April of 2000. He returned to Rapid City in 2002 and continued to be involved in Ju Jitsu.     
    
        Master 
Rice is excited about opening a new Dojo and continuing the traditional philosophies and values he feels are important in keeping the Art of Ju Jitsu as it was meant to be taught. The new Dojo, currently under construction, will be on the east side of Rapid City, located at the Anytime Fitness Center, 1624 E. St. Patrick, Suite 106, Rapid City, South Dakota. 
    
        
During his years in Ju Jitsu, Master Rice has promoted and competed in numerous tournaments, conducted self defense seminars, and taught women's self-defense courses. 
    
        Master Rice is a Deputy Sheriff with the Pennington County Sheriffs Office, and is a certified Police Defensive Tactics Instructor.
